Kingdoms Mill Village Raid

I have been wanting this set forever. Just for the goats. LEGO needs to make more goats.

Bag 1 has all the wonderful animals in it. The grey horse, I believe, is also only in this set as well.

This was a fun build and rather easy. Monty Python’s Holy Grail kept running through my head.

I have the other village set too. Will be doing that one soon as well.

Biggest problem with this set was that every time I put a brown piece on the model instead of the classic LEGO click I heard a distinct crack and sizzle of the plastic cracking.

The 1×1 brown bricks were the worst followed closely by the plates (any size). See the close up image below.

WotNo! Clutch is missing

WotNo! asks “what no clutch here”?!

There is clutch on the top, bottom, inside, and front part of these new pods but this point lacks any clutch at all.

But why?

Cat Butt

I picked up some parts in the BAM (build a minifigure) area of the store the other night when we were at the adult (yeah right) build. I was hoping for the Winter/Valentine’s parts I have been seeing on the web (penguin, pink elephant head piece, pink torso with red heart, heart shaped glasses head, ice king). But no such luck.

I did get some black scottie dogs, charcaol kitty, dude in suit with bowler hat, and a few left over elves.

Once I was home and playing with them I noticed on the back of the cat the odd placement of the sprue mark (the piece of plastic that is left attached when the parts are molded).

It is at the exact spot of a cat’s anus. Yup, LEGO has unknowingly given us cat butt.

The scottie dog did not have this ossue as the sprue was on his back.

I am probably going to have to paint one. Just because.

Donating LEGO

LEGO Replay

Opinion Piece. Just my own opinion is all.

Don’t get me wrong here, donating LEGO is a good thing. In fact, we have taken several generous donations at the Pagoda Brick Builders club and they are greatly appreciated. I just don’t know if I like the idea of LEGO spearheading this Replay program.

I really think people need to do a small amount of research and find someone in their local area to donate them to. There are plenty of after school programs, libraries, churches or even doctor’s offices that would take them. Just look for LEGO clubs in your area. Doing it locally helps reduce the amount of waste involved in shipping the parts out and them then shipping them back out to the final destination.

While Replay is a good alternative to simply dumping unwanted bricks at Goodwill (which should never be anyone’s go to solution), I feel your local community would be better served by doing that research and finding a place to take your bricks (or have someone come to you to pick them up).

Also the LEGO company’s involvement with Replay feels like a conflict of interest to me. They sold the product in the first place and now they are asking for it back. Questions get raised even more so now that they have purchased BrickLink, the number secondary market on the net to buy used parts and pieces.

All I ask is that you take some time and try and find a place in your local area that would be more than happy to use your unwanted bricks before you box them up and ship them off to LEGO.
